Bob Ryan's Headshot

Bob Ryan

Reporter for The Boston Globe and ESPN - Panelist Blurb

Bob Ryan, a sports columnist, joined The Boston Globe in 1968 as an intern and remained until 1982, when he moved to WCVB-TV in Boston (ABC affiliate) as a sports reporter. Finding print journalism more satisfying than broadcast journalism, Ryan returned to The Boston Globe in 1984.

In his tenure at The Globe, he covered the Boston Celtics, Red Sox, 20 NBA Finals, 19 Final Fours, four Super Bowls, four US Open championships, two British Opens, numerous college football bowl games and the last two Olympics.

Ryan has written numerous books, including the recently released When Boston Won the World Series, which chronicles Boston's victory in the first World Series in 1903. He is also a member of ESPN's Sunday Morning Program "The Sports Reporters," ESPN's weekday program "Around the Horn," and is a weekly guest on several ESPN radio programs.
