A veteran of film, television and the Broadway stage, Jeffrey Tambor is one of the most iconic and respected character actors of his generation.

Tambor is currently starring in what he refers to as a once-in-a-lifetime role, one that excites the acting chi of even the most polished and prolific professionals. Tambor plays the transgender patriarch–turned matriarch in Amazon’s hit series, Transparent, for which he won the 2015 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a comedy series and the 2015 Emmy for Lead Actor in a comedy series.

Previously, Tambor played the role of Hank Kingsley from The Larry Sanders Show, bellowing his famous catchphrase, “Hey nowww!” and selling unsafe garden tools to little old ladies. He is also known as the dejected dad from The Hangover, warning his clueless son that if STDs happen in Vegas – they don’t stay in Vegas.

Tambor’s long list of television credits include: Kojak (1973), Barney Miller (1974), Starsky and Hutch (1975), Three's Company (1977), The Ropers, M*A*S*H, The Golden Girls, (1979), Max Headroom (1987), The Larry Sanders Show (1992), Arrested Development (2003), Archer (2009), Paul (2011,) Bent (2012)…and more.

Tambor’s many awards include a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for The Larry Sanders Show (1993, 1996-1998) and Arrested Development (2004-2004), and a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy for Transparent (2015).

 A man of many talents, Tambor has also been a teacher for over 40 years, helping all kinds of people “perform their life” by overcoming their fears with verve and vigor. Tambor lives in San Francisco, California with his family.
